Classification: Topical Antibiotic
Indications: For treatment and prevention of infection in cuts, burns and wounds.
Precautions: If used for a long period of time, overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms, particularily monilia, may take place. If this happens, discontinue use and institute appropriate measures. Rarely, anaphylactic reactions following topical administration of bacitracin zinc have been reported.
Dosage: Apply 1 or more times daily or as directed.
Supplied as: Each gram contains: Bacitracin (as zinc salt) 500 USP units in lanolin-free mineral oil, white petrolatum.
